Local Carpet Cleaning Expertise
“My week is spent between residential work and commercial work. I look after the local real estate agents, property managers and the Airlie Beach Hotel, and I also visit the marina cleaning Boats and Super Yachts.”
Nicole had worked alongside previous Franchisee’s Rex and Cathy, and David and Corrina for a total of five years when the opportunity came up to take ownership of the thriving business. “I already knew the business inside and out,” said Nicole “It just made sense.”
Nicole’s familiarity with the business and her 28 years in the local area has resulted in a seamless transition for the day-to-day business operations. “The business is quite varied,” Nicole mentioned. She spends her time between residential jobs – dry cleaning carpets, upholstery, lounges and soft furnishings and mattresses – and working for larger businesses within the local Airlie Beach region.
Airlie Beach is a vibrant tourism hub, with commercial and holiday rentals together with residential services making the bulk of Nicole’s work. With many marina berths in the area, Nicole enjoys getting out on the water and spending some time on luxury yachts – cleaning upholstery, cushions, soft furnishings and carpets.
These luxury yachts are just like floating holiday homes, and Elite are the local experts – keeping the upholstery, carpets and furnishings in immaculate condition, with minimal fuss and disturbance to those on board.
“House rugs, floor runners, boat cushions, curtains, wedding runners and carpet squares can be dropped off for cleaning. I try to dedicate one day a week to my ‘Shed’ – sometimes this just happens to be the weekend – but that is the nature of the job,” she said.
Nicole also operates a specialist rug cleaning service she affectionately calls ‘The Work Shed’ where she provides her customers with a Drop Off and Collect Service. This dedicated, in-house cleaning system provides the most thorough clean possible across a range of items.
Nicole recalls the mammoth clean-up efforts of the Arlie Beach Community and Elite Carpet Dry Cleaning after Cyclone Debbie back in March 2017. Rooves had collapsed and furniture and floorings needed water extraction and cleaning. “The weather up here can be very unpredictable. There are always going to be times when Mother Nature unleashes storms on us. It is part of living in the tropics. Thankfully the recent weather events did not have the impact of Cyclone Debbie, but there was still a clean-up required.”
