Pet Elim – Urine & Odour Neutraliser
Pet Elim is specially designed to neutralise urine, vomit and diarrhoea accidents before permanent damage can be done to carpets.
During the initial period after the accident occurs, the acid urine becomes progressively an alkali and finally a salt. A substance known as Mercaptan is produced during this time and becomes an integral part of the affected fibre and is therefore impossible to remove or neutralise. The residual salt continually takes moisture from the surrounding atmosphere and never quite dries. Smells become more apparent during periods of high humidity.
If not neutralised within 48–72 hours from the time of accident, the odour is impossible to remove chemically. Physical removal and replacement of both carpet and underfelt, together with a thorough sealing of the floor material (e.g. Chemseal or Bondcrete for concrete floors, Estapol or similar for timber floors) is then required. This is a costly procedure, and can be avoided.
Pet Elim is a stain neutraliser. When applied within 48 hours of the occurrence, it will effectively neutralise the urine, preventing it from becoming an alkali and then a salt. Therefore, it eliminates odours and also prevents the bleaching of carpet or upholstery.
