Carpet cleaning in Chermside covers a lot of apartments now, with the high-density growth around Westfield and the hospital precinct, as well as the older family homes in Wavell Heights, Kedron and Stafford. From $88 per bedroom. A professional clean pre-treats the pile, works the solution in and extracts the dirty water. A hire machine wets the carpet and leaves most of what’s underneath where it was.
Drying time depends on the carpet, the soiling and the weather, and a small unit with the windows shut dries differently from a breezy house near 7th Brigade Park. The technician tells you on the day.

Every Chermside job starts with the technician checking the carpet. Wool, synthetic and blended fibres take heat and water differently. A unit near the Aquatic Centre being handed back to an agent after a few years of tenants is a different job from a spare room in Wooloowin that’s hardly been walked on, and the plan reflects that.
The technician also tells you which method the carpet will get, and why, before any water goes down.
The steps on the day
Dry vacuum, so loose grit comes out dry rather than being washed into the backing.
Pre-spray, then agitation to work the solution down into the pile.
Hot water extraction, which rinses the fibres and pulls the dirty water straight back out.
Spot treatment on anything that comes through the main pass, charged at $45 per 15 minutes.
A last pass to leave the carpet as dry as the equipment allows, with the pile set one way.
The Elite brand holds IICRC S100 certification for carpet cleaning and the work is done to the relevant Australian Standards. The nearest branch is the Brisbane head office in Acacia Ridge, 23.1 km away.
Steam, dry, and which carpet gets which
Hot water extraction, the method most people call steam cleaning, is the default for a soiled carpet because the rinse is what removes residue. Low-moisture cleaning suits a carpet that shouldn’t take water, or a space that has to be back in use quickly, for example a tenancy in the retail precinct that can’t close for the afternoon. For a rental hand-back the technician generally recommends extraction, because agents want the soil out, not the surface freshened.
Bedrooms are $88 per room, a small hall is $44, stairs are $6 per stair, and commercial carpet is $88 per room up to 16 sqm or $5 per sqm beyond. A minimum job total may apply. Technicians are police-checked and fully insured, with $20 million in public and products liability cover, and every job carries a satisfaction guarantee.
If you’d like Elite carpet protection applied after the clean it’s $6 per sqm, and small rugs can be done at the same time for $44 each.

Yes. Public and products liability cover is $20 million, and technicians are police-checked and fully insured. Elite is also CM3 certified and a member of the IICRC, the Restoration Industry Association and the Facility Management Association of Australia.
Can you help with a flooded or mouldy carpet?
That's handled by Elite's restoration line, which runs 24/7 for water, fire and mould damage, with IICRC certification in S500, S520 and S700. Call and say it's water or mould, and the job is booked as restoration rather than a standard clean.
