Unexpected places which require Carpet Cleaning: Your Motorhome

You already know how important it is to clean the carpets in your home. What you may not think about is having the rugs in your motorhome or campervan cleaned regularly as well. Even so, a lot could be lurking inside your vehicle, so with Christmas holidays just around the corner, here are a few reasons to consider camper cleaning.

Storage Problems

If you’re like most owners, you use your campervan seasonally – such as during Easter and Christmas holidays. Perhaps you bring your camper out for long weekends or during school holidays to take the family on a quick getaway. The rest of the time, you may leave your vehicle in a state of “storage”. Whether it is out the front of your home, or in a garage or shed – while it’s sitting there, your camper is collecting dust, pollen and dirt that will accumulate and get lodged in your carpeting. Upon opening it up, you may notice a dull smell or, worse still, even have difficulty breathing.

You want to enjoy your vehicle during good weather, and that is difficult to do when it is dirty. Dust mites might even make it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. So that you are not bothered by allergens, have us perform a thorough cleaning once you take your vehicle out of storage or before that next holiday comes up. We’ll ensure that all soft surfaces such as upholstery, mattresses, and carpeting are clean and ready for you to begin using them again.

Many owners are surprised to find water damage when they remove their vehicle from storage. Perhaps you have suffered a leak that you weren’t aware of, and now you have moisture damage to deal with. If so, this is something you should address before spending even one night in your camper.

Other Cleaning Challenges

Staying in a motorhome comes with some unique cleaning challenges. For example, it’s easier to bring sand. dirt and mud inside, particularly if you are parked in a remote area. This means that your carpets might become dirty faster than those in your home will.

Some campers come equipped with their own vacuums; however, many owners admit they rarely, if ever, use them. Perhaps you are a little like me and fail to vacuum like you should, particularly when you are moving from one location to the next. If so, you already know what a toll this can take on your carpet and soft furnishings.

Barbecue grills and fire pits go hand-in-hand with camping. Unfortunately, this means that a great deal of smoke can also get into your motorhome or camper trailer, where it will then become embedded in your rugs and upholstery. Even if you air out your vehicle, some smoke will nonetheless remain.
