Asbestos removal on the Gold Coast covers the fibro sheeting, eaves, roof sheeting and fences found in many homes and buildings from before the 1990s, along with interior linings and old floor tiles. We seal off the work area, remove and wrap the material, and take it away for proper disposal, using Elite’s in-house technicians.
It is usually booked before a renovation or a demolition, after a building inspection has flagged it, or when sheeting has been cracked or broken.
“We had a pipe burst in our ceiling, water seeped into our walls and our unit was at a very high risk for mould :( Guosheng worked tirelessly to ensure the drying process went as smooth as possible, even working until the evening on a Friday to ensure our walls would be dry and safe over the weekend! An extremely proficient and productive company that thrives on providing excellent service and quality work. Thank you so much for all of your help! <3”
“Guosheng from Elite Restoration did an amazing job dealing with the water damage to my unit, due to a burst pipe. Nothing was too hard and Guosheng had multiple tricks up his sleeve to ensure maximum drying capacity. The communication throughout the whole process was excellent, which made this very stressful situation for me a lot easier to handle. Thanks so much Guosheng.☺️”
Asbestos looks like any other sheeting or tile, so it is only confirmed by sampling, with analysis through NATA-accredited laboratory partners. Common places in older homes include:
fibro walls and eaves
roof sheeting and old fences
bathroom and laundry linings
the backing on old vinyl floor tiles
Bonded asbestos, set in cement, is fairly stable while intact. Friable asbestos crumbles and releases fibres easily, so it is handled under tighter rules.
The removal, step by step
The material is confirmed and the job is quoted.
Plastic sheeting seals off the work area.
Material is kept wet and removed in whole pieces where it can be.
Technicians work in protective gear and decontaminate on the way out.
Waste is wrapped, labelled and taken to a facility that accepts asbestos.
The area is cleaned, and an independent assessor clears it where the rules require.

Gold Coast asbestos removal questions
Can asbestos be left in place?
Often, if it is bonded, intact and won’t be disturbed. Damage or a planned renovation changes that.
How long does removal take?
A small area can be a single day. Roofs and whole-house jobs take longer, and the quote sets out the timing.
How is it disposed of?
Wrapped in heavy plastic, labelled and taken to a facility that accepts asbestos waste.
