Sorting comes first
Before anything is removed, the family or executor decides what stays with the family, what is donated and what goes. During the clear, anything that looks personal, important or valuable, such as photos, letters, papers and jewellery, is put aside rather than thrown out. If relatives want time with a room first, that room waits.
The steps
- A walk-through and a fixed quote.
- Room-by-room sorting, with keepsakes and documents set aside.
- Donation and recycling wherever possible.
- Responsible disposal of what is left.
- A full clean of the empty home, including carpets where needed.
- A written record of the work for the executor.
Executors who live interstate can follow the job through the fixed quote, updates and the written record, without travelling for each step.
What customers say
“Nothing was too hard ... The communication throughout the whole process was excellent, which made this very stressful situation for me a lot easier to handle.” – Nicole Martin, Google review, 5/5.
What stands behind the work
Elite’s carpet, upholstery and general cleaning crews mean the clean at the end is done by people who clean for a living, not as an afterthought to a rubbish run.
Technicians are police-checked and fully insured, with $20 million in public and products liability cover, and every job carries a satisfaction guarantee. The business is CM3 certified for contractor OH&S and compliance, and the Elite brand has been operating since 1984.
Deceased estate questions
Can personal items and documents be set aside?
Yes. Anything personal, important or valuable is set aside for the family as it is found.
Do we need probate before the house is cleared?
That is for the executor and the estate’s solicitor to decide. We work to their timing.
Will the home be ready for sale?
Yes. Once it is empty it gets a full clean, ready for the agent.
