Air movers or a dehumidifier?
For most drying, you need both. The air movers make water evaporate out of carpet, plaster and timber; the dehumidifier takes that water out of the air and sends it down a drain line. Either one alone is slow, and air movers alone can make a closed room more humid.
LGR units keep pulling water out even as a room dries, which is where domestic dehumidifiers stall.
How hire works
- You tell us the size of the space, what is wet and whether it is occupied.
- We size the equipment: how many dehumidifiers and air movers, and where they go.
- It is delivered and set up, with drainage and power sorted on site.
- You are shown what to check while it runs.
- We collect it when the job is done.
When to bring in the restoration team
Hired equipment doesn’t measure moisture inside walls or under floors. After a burst pipe or flood, or where water has sat for more than a day, a monitored dry in line with IICRC S500 is safer. Elite runs water damage restoration as a 24/7 service, with a target of being on site within 2 hours in metro areas, and a hire can be turned into a full job. Technicians hold IICRC certifications in water damage restoration and applied structural drying.
Technicians are police-checked and fully insured, with $20 million in public and products liability cover, and every job carries a satisfaction guarantee. The business is CM3 certified for contractor OH&S and compliance, and the Elite brand has been operating since 1984.
Dehumidifier hire questions
Is delivery and set-up included?
Yes. Units are delivered, set up and sized to the space.
How long should I hire for?
Anything from a few days to long-term rental, depending on how wet the space is.
Can I run it in an occupied home?
Yes. It will hum and warm the room a little; keep doors and windows shut so it works on the right air.
