Asbestos removal on the Sunshine Coast takes asbestos out of older homes, sheds and commercial buildings: fibro walls and eaves, roof sheeting, fences and interior linings. With so many people relocating to the coast, a lot of it comes up when a buyer’s inspection finds it or a new owner starts renovating. We contain the area, remove and wrap the material and take it away for disposal, using our in-house technicians.
“We had a pipe burst in our ceiling, water seeped into our walls and our unit was at a very high risk for mould :( Guosheng worked tirelessly to ensure the drying process went as smooth as possible, even working until the evening on a Friday to ensure our walls would be dry and safe over the weekend! An extremely proficient and productive company that thrives on providing excellent service and quality work. Thank you so much for all of your help! <3”
“Guosheng from Elite Restoration did an amazing job dealing with the water damage to my unit, due to a burst pipe. Nothing was too hard and Guosheng had multiple tricks up his sleeve to ensure maximum drying capacity. The communication throughout the whole process was excellent, which made this very stressful situation for me a lot easier to handle. Thanks so much Guosheng.☺️”
Most asbestos in homes is bonded, held in cement as in fibro sheeting. While it is intact it is fairly stable. Friable asbestos, such as some old insulation, crumbles and releases fibres easily. Neither can be identified by eye, so suspect material is sampled first and analysed through NATA-accredited laboratory partners.
In Queensland, more than 10 square metres of bonded asbestos, or any friable asbestos, must be removed by a licensed removalist.
How the job runs
Confirm the material by sampling and laboratory analysis, then quote.
Seal the work area with plastic and keep people clear.
Wet the material and remove it in whole pieces where possible.
Work in protective equipment, with decontamination on leaving the area.
Wrap, label and take the waste to a facility that accepts asbestos.
Clean the area; where the rules require it, an independent assessor issues a clearance certificate.

Sunshine Coast asbestos removal questions
A building inspection found asbestos. What now?
If it is intact and won’t be disturbed, it can often stay. If you plan to renovate, or it is damaged, have it confirmed and quoted for removal.
Can I stay home during removal?
The work area is sealed and must be kept clear. On larger jobs you may be asked to stay away until it is cleaned and cleared.
How is it disposed of?
Wrapped in heavy plastic, labelled, and taken to a facility that accepts asbestos waste.
