Why it’s worth doing
You spend roughly a third of every day in bed. If anyone at home has asthma or allergies, the anti-allergen treatment is the part that counts, because it reduces the dust-mite allergen load in the mattress itself.
Step by step
It starts with a once-over. The technician checks the whole mattress and notes stains and smells before anything gets wet.
Stains come next. Sweat marks, spills, blood and urine are each pre-treated, and odours get an enzyme treatment that breaks them down instead of perfuming over them.
Then the main clean: hot-water extraction, which flushes out embedded soil, sweat and allergens. A sanitising, anti-allergen treatment goes on last.
You’ll usually be sleeping on it that night.
