A hard jet strips the glaze from terracotta and the coating from cement tiles, and a stripped tile soaks up water and grows back faster. On Colorbond, both a hard jet and harsh chemicals can damage the factory finish. A soft wash avoids all three problems: the solution does the work, and the rinse is gentle.
How the job runs
The quote is set by the size, type and access of the roof.
If you are on tank water, tell us when you book so the tank downpipes can be diverted. Garden beds below are protected.
The soft wash is applied and left to work on the growth.
A low-pressure rinse carries it off.
Gutters and downpipes are checked afterwards, because that is where the loose growth ends up.
On older roofs, the clean also makes cracked or slipped tiles easy to spot, and we point out any we see.
Before painting or restoration
Roof paint and coatings won’t bond to moss, lichen or chalky residue. If a repaint is planned, the clean comes first.
