Paved patios take pressure well. Timber gets a lower setting, worked along the grain so the surface is not furred up.
House walls and roofs
Paint, render and roofs get a soft wash. The cleaning solution does the work, and the low pressure keeps water out from behind cladding.
Why the method changes
Too much pressure etches concrete, scars timber and strips paint. Too little leaves the roots of the mould behind, and it returns within months. Each surface gets the setting that clears it without harm.

High pressure or soft wash: which does my house need?
Usually both. The driveway and paths get high pressure; the walls, eaves and roof get a soft wash.
Will it damage my paint?
Not with a soft wash. High pressure is kept off painted and rendered surfaces.
How often should it be done?
Shaded and damp areas grow back fastest. When paths darken or feel slick, they are due.
